    Melissa joined SFMS in 2016 as an associate, where she works on various complex litigation and securities matters.

    Melissa received her law degree from Fordham Law School, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Rhetoric and Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. While at Fordham, Melissa competed on the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy team, and was an Editor for the Environmental Law Review. Melissa was the first American law student selected to clerk for the Attorney General for Northern Ireland in Belfast, where she assisted with producing guidance for criminal justice organizations under Section 8 of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2004, and in compliance with the European Convention for Human Rights. Following Belfast, she was selected to participate in Fordham Law's Federal Litigation Clinic, assisting in both civil and criminal matters, and later, the Walter Leitner International Human Rights Clinic, writing Universal Periodic Reports for submission to the UN. Before joining the firm, Melissa was an Appeals Fellow for the New York County Defender Services and their liaison to the Center for Appellate Litigation. Melissa is bilingual in English and Chinese.
