Jayne A. Goldstein
Jayne Arnold Goldstein joined SFMS in 2008. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida, as well as in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and numerous federal courts, including the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Third and Eleventh Circuits. In addition to these courts and jurisdictions, Jayne has worked on cases with local and co-counsel throughout the country and worldwide.
Jayne's practice is concentrated on representing clients in securities, antitrust and consumer cases, as well as complex commercial litigation. She currently represents individuals, institutional investors and labor organizations in a variety of complex commercial litigation, including complex litigation, violations of federal and state antitrust and securities laws and unfair and deceptive trade practices. She has played a principal role handling securities litigation that resulted in recoveries of over $100 million. Jayne currently represents clients as co-lead counsel in significant securities and consumer class action litigation. In addition, Jayne has significant experience representing clients in unfair and deceptive trade practice litigation, as well as deceptive advertising cases. Significantly, Jayne has been appointed as lead class counsel in two class action arbitrations, both of which have been certified as national classes. Finally, Jayne has led discovery teams in major national litigation that resulted in recoveries of over $100 million.
Jayne, a registered nurse, received her law degree from Temple University School of Law in 1986 and received her Bachelor of Science (highest honors) from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. Jayne began her legal career with a wide ranging general practice firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During that time, she tried numerous private civil cases, including complex medical malpractice actions. In 1995, Jayne relocated to Florida and continued with a litigation practice. Jayne's litigation expertise has served her clients well in her current complex commercial litigation practice. In 2000, Jayne joined two other experienced complex commercial class action attorneys as a founding shareholder of Mager & White, P.C. and opened its Florida office. Jayne's practice concentrated in securities, consumer and antitrust litigation. In 2002, the firm became Mager White & Goldstein, LLP. In 2005, Jayne was a founding partner of Mager & Goldstein LLP, and continued to concentrate her practice on consumer, securities and antitrust litigation.
Jayne is a member of the Broward Women's Lawyers Association, the Supreme Court Historical Society, the Florida Public Pension Trustees Association, the National Association of Shareholder and Consumer Attorneys. She was voted by her peers to be a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. She resides in Weston, Florida with her family, but divides her time between both the Firm's Pennsylvania and Florida offices. She is active in community affairs and charitable work in both Florida and Pennsylvania.
