Shepherd, Finkelman, Miller & Shah, LLP (“SFMS”) is a proud patron of the Impact Fund, which is a San Francisco-based organization that provides strategic leadership and support for litigation to achieve economic and social justice. Among other things, the Impact Fund offers innovative technical support, training, and expertise on issues that arise in large scale impact litigation and serves as counsel in select class action and impact litigation. The Impact Fund assists with class actions in employment law, consumer protection law, environmental law, discrimination, and other legal areas.
From February 20-21, 2020, the Impact Fund hosted its 18th Annual Class Action Conference, which SFMS was honored to sponsor. The conference featured several dynamic and cutting-edge panels covering a variety of topics in class action law. Topics covered included recent developments in class action law, illustrations of successful public interest class actions, handling class action objections, valuing non-economic damages in class action cases, and more. Partner Laurie Rubinow, associates Kolin Tang, Jaclyn Reinhart, and John Roberts, project analyst Ho Yin Cheung, and credit intern Terrill Malone all attended the conference, and are excited to bring the information learned from the well-renowned panelists to our class action work at SFMS.
In addition to the information-rich panels and presentations, the conference provided an opportunity for SFMS’s legal professionals to network with and build connections among other passionate class-action practitioners from across the country, sharing practice tips and experiences, as well as inviting the opportunity for collaboration in the future.
The legal team at SFMS has significant experience litigating class action matters. If you have any questions regarding this subject or this posting, please contact John Roberts (email@example.com) or Alec Berin (firstname.lastname@example.org). We can also be reached toll-free at (866) 540-5505.
