Class Certification Granted In Land Rover Class Action

On July 25, 2011, the United States District Court for the Central District of California issued an order certifying consumer protection claims on behalf of Florida, Michigan and Ohio classes. Plaintiffs asserted consumer protection, limited warranty and unjust enrichment claims in a case involving an alleged defect with model year 2005 and 2006 Land Rover LR3 vehicles, resulting in premature tire wear. The decision follows the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversal of the District Court’s denial of class certification.
