Guidelines to Classifying Workers in NJ

Many states have strict guidelines when it comes to classifying workers. In New Jersey, the Department of Labor has a stringent test they utilize to determine if a person is actually an independent contractor, and not an employee of the company. Moreover, the DOL will enforce serious penalties against employers who improperly classify their workers.
